"Let me tell you a story. A story about a visionary, who lived more than a century ago. Who believed in self-improvement, free education and a fairer society with equal opportunity for all."

2023 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of John Passmore Edwards, the Cornish philanthropist who gifted to the people of Acton their first free, public library in 1900: The building that now houses ActOne Cinema, a truly independent, community cinema from the community of Acton, for the community of Acton!

As part of a series of events in London and Cornwall that will take place this year to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Passmore Edwards’ birth -more of which will be announced in the near future- this week only, we are offering our lowest weekend prices ever: £10 full price; £8 concession!

The prices are available for both of the newly released films we screen (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.3 and THE EIGHT MOUNTAINS), for all screenings from Friday evening to Sunday!
