The ClassicOne Cinema Club: REMAINS OF THE DAY
A rule-bound head butler's world of manners and decorum in the household he maintains is tested by the arrival of a housekeeper who falls in love with him in post-WWI Britain. The possibility of romance and his master's cultivation of ties with the Nazi cause challenge his carefully maintained veneer of servitude.
We’re bringing you a cinema club with a difference. To tie in with our lovely community library heritage, we are going to be screening classic films inspired by original books. Then, just like a book club, join other members in your screening for some complementary refreshments, to discuss your thoughts on the film and have a good old Acton get-together.
Why not join us at our ClassicOne Cinema Club screenings and enjoy a good chat afterwards?
As a community cinema, we want to make the films accessible for all, so tickets are on a pay-what-you-can basis.
Tickets for carers are free, and we welcome people living with dementia and care home residents. Please contact us if you want to bring a group.
Programme supported by Film Hub London, managed by Film London. Proud to be a partner of the BFI Film Audience Network, funded by the National Lottery.DramaPT2H14MU2026-03-31Anthony Hopkins
