La Bohème is a new opera feature film written & directed by Olivier Award-winner, Robin Norton-Hale. In present day East End London, an aspiring novelist falls in love with a Ukrainian cleaner whilst his best friend attempts to rekindle his romance with a social climbing sex bomb. A classic reborn in 21st-century London. A tale of love and tragedy, beauty and decay – Puccini’s La Boheme is one of the world’s most-loved operas. Originally set in Paris, it has been wowing audiences since it was first performed in Turin at the end of the century. This version was first performed on stage by the company Opera Up Close to huge critical acclaim, winning Best New Opera Production at the 2011 Laurence Olivier Awards.
